Studio Reveal

The studio is finally finished! We’ve worked hard this past summer to create a cozy place for you to work on your DIY projects and still feel at home.

We decorated the walls with inspirational quotes to make you feel at home.

We have some of our inventory on display. You may purchase these through our online store or when you are in the studio painting! We also offer custom orders, as well.

We have a cute sink handy for easy clean up!

And Shane worked hard with a friend of ours to make these awesome tables for us! They are custom designed by our kids.

The perfect party gift!

Some weekends you have nothing to do and some weekends you have 4 parties in the same day! This weekend is 4 parties in the same day kind of weekend for me. Baby showers, birthday parties, gender reveals… all great opportunities to show someone how much you love them! We like to make your job easier by providing you with the homemade gift you don’t always have time to make.

For the baby shower, I used a small board that I found at Michaels. I painted the background white and the outside brown. After the background dried, I laid the stencil of antlers and painted it brown to match the outside of the board. Finally, I laid the stencil for the name and painted it green to match the nursery.

The birthday girl is turning 2 and she loves pink! She is a precious baby girl. I painted the background of the board pink. I got this cute little board from Michael’s, as well. I painted her last initial purple and her name light pink. Then I painted a flower in purple and pink to match. This is going to be so cute in her room!

And finally we have the gender reveal. The mom chose chic for girl and woodland creatures for boy. Now, this won’t always go over so smoothly for gender reveals, but I just so happen to be an insider so I could have the board painted to match the theme. I can’t wait for mom to see how precious this board turned out! I painted the board white and the outside light blue. I painted the woodland creatures and for the letters I painted ombre light blue to darker blue. I am in love with this sign!

We love how adorable these signs turned out. If something catches your eye or you have a sign you want us to paint, send us an email or visit the store and we can get the order placed for you. Have a great weekend!

Glass Bottle Decor

One of my favorite things to craft are glass bottles! You can use any type of glass bottle for crafts. It is a lot of fun and is a unique way to spruce up your home. I love to use twine when I am decorating glass bottles because it adds so much.

Glass bottles are easy to come by. You can often find them in online yard sale sites on Facebook pretty cheap. If you do not have luck there, Hobby Lobby has these for a reasonable price. To make the “LOVE” bottles, I got four – I chose same size and shape for my slight OCD problem; you can switch it up if you like – bottles, two different colors of twine, and craft supplies for the letters (buttons, a flower, a burlap embellishment).
If you have any labels on your bottles, soak them in hot soapy water to get the labels off. Hot glue the twine around the bottles. This is a time consuming process, but it isn’t hard. Once the twine is in place, glue the craft supplies on the front of the bottles and put some floral stems in the bottles. There you have a cheap and quick decor to add to your home! My next one will say “HOME” so “LOVE” can move to our bedroom instead of the living room.

Another simple craft to do with glass bottles on requires a bottle and glitter blast spray paint. Simply wrap the bottles with painter’s tape with a design of your choice and spray. Once the bottle is dry, take the tape off and stick a floral stem in it and you are done! I did use etching cream to etch a W into the bottle but it didn’t turn out that great.Next time I will print a stencil.

Dining Room DIY

I’ve done more crafts in the two years we have lived in this house than I have the whole time we have been married. That means our home is finally decorated. (Let’s not talk about the other houses that didn’t have curtains let alone decorations). The only room that was left to decorate was the dining room. Thanks to the 80-90% clearance at Hobby Lobby, I finally finished that room as well!
$20 Gold Mirror

This gold mirror was originally $100. I got it on sale for $20! On the next aisle I found this adorable painting that tied the gold right in with my dining room. The painting was originally around $100, but I got it for around $15.

Now to the DIY part of the post. I needed a way to tie that red in. Of course, in the clearance section I found a picture frame that matched it perfectly! So, I got some burlap and a small floral stem and created a cross. I wish I had gone with plain burlap or at least a different color, but I love how it turned out. I couldn’t find my hot glue gun, so this was a little tricky. Basically, lay the picture frame face down and wrap the burlap once vertically. Wrap it once horizontally to create a cross. *Make sure you cross closer to the top. Otherwise, you will have a plus sign.* Once you create the cross, wrap the end vertically around the center to gather the burlap up and tie it in place. Then, stick your floral where you like!

The last part of this post is the center piece for my dining room table. This is ridiculously easy. I got these candle holders and these candles. I found a burlap table runner to lay down. I had a vase at the house so all I needed was potpourri and my dining room table was complete!

What deals have you found in a clearance section that you just couldn’t pass up? Share with us in the comments below!
